Penryn Town Council has a number of venues that are available for hire. All halls are available Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 10:30 pm. Concession rates are available for registered charities, non-profit making organisations and private parties held by residents of Penryn.


Booking

If you would like to hire one or more of the halls please complete our online hall hire request form. Alternatively, you can download, complete and return the Hall Hire Booking Form (Word Document). Contact us if you would like to discuss your requirements before making a booking request.


COVID–19 and hall hire

Halls will be available for booking from May 17 2021 for allowed activities. When they reopen guidelines will be in place regarding current rules and conditions. Sanitisers will be available for use in all halls place and there will be signage to help you conform to the rules. Risk assessments have been carried out at all halls. Please note that you will be required to provide your own COVID Risk Assessment prior to your event taking place, if you are unsure about this, please ask.


Town Hall

The beautiful granite Town Hall was originally known as the Market House and is situated right in the heart of Penryn. As well as being an excellent wedding venue, it is suitable for large group meetings, exhibitions and presentations.

Council Chamber

The Council Chamber where we hold Council meetings is located at the back of our Town Hall and is generally used for small meetings. Its large window provides a fantastic view down Lower Market Street towards the estuary.

Temperance Hall

The Temperance Hall in Lower Market Street is very popular with birthday parties, markets and classes (Bingo, Dance and Yoga etc). No alcohol can be consumed or bought in the Temperance Hall but it is suitable for a bouncy castle so long as your provider is licensed.

Stuart Stephen Memorial Hall

The Stuart Stephen Memorial Hall in West Street is also popular with birthday parties, markets, and classes. It is not owned by the Council so hire rates for the space are slightly different.

Payment

We can accept cash, cheque, card or bank transfer. All casual bookings must be paid in full at least two working days before the date of the booking.

Cancellation policy

Refunds for cancellations will only be given at the discretion of the Town Clerk. Casual bookings not paid in full by the required deadline will be considered to be cancelled.

Hire period

Opening and closing times should take account of any time needed to set up or clear away. Failure to vacate the building by the closing time stated on your booking may result in an additional charge.

Alcohol

The consumption of alcohol is not permitted in Temperance Hall. The sale of alcohol is not permitted in any of the Council’s buildings.
