Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Result

The referendum for the Penryn Neighbourhood Plan took place on Thursday 19 August 2021, the electorate of Penryn were asked to vote either yes or no on the question:

Do you want Cornwall Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Penryn to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

Result

The electorate of 6008 for the Parish returned the result as follows:

• Yes – 703 votes (93.6%)
• No – 46 votes (6.12%)
• Rejected ballots – 2
• Ballot papers completed – 751
• Election Turnout – 12.5%

With over 50% of the votes being cast in favour of the Penryn Neighbourhood Plan, the Plan will now be used to help decide planning applications within the designated area
